We visit different corners of the industry to bring you a selection of stories in bite-size form.
It’s the Neve’s Bees
UK B Corp company Neve’s Bees has created two new organic overnight facial oils – Smoothly Does It Organic Overnight Replenishing Oil and Bee Gentle Overnight Replenishing Oil – designed to restore and support the skin barrier while you sleep.
Both formulas combine organic oat oil CO₂ extract, naturally rich in phytosterols and beta-glucan, plus rosehip, which provides essential fatty acids, carotenoids and antioxidant compounds. The recipe also features borage, selected for its naturally high concentration of gamma-linolenic acid, and jojoba, which has a composition similar to the wax esters found naturally on the skin’s surface.
Smoothly Does It is finished with rose, frankincense and lavender essential oils, creating an aromatherapeutic night-time ritual, while Bee Gentle contains no added essential oils and has been developed for particularly sensitive skin or those seeking fragrance-free skincare.
The oils are Soil Association COSMOS Organic-certified, cruelty-free and have plastic-free packaging.
New Katsu soup from Tideford
Tideford Organics has added Katsu Butternut & Sweet Potato Soup to its plant-only organic range.
The new variant combines butternut squash and sweet potato with gently spiced Japanese-style Katsu flavours.
The new soup joins Lentil & Spinach Dhal and Mexican Style Corn & Red Pepper in the range, with each pot providing three of your five-a-day.
Commenting on the launch, Susann Tandy, marketing manager at Tideford Organics, says: “Lunch should be something to look forward to, not just another box to tick on a busy day. At Tideford, we’re all about bringing a little more joy to the table.
“For over 25 years we’ve taken culinary inspiration from around the world and Katsu brings another deliciously different, global flavour discovery to the range – whether you’re at home or squeezing lunch in between meetings – and can be heated up and ready to eat in minutes.”
Tideford will run sampling events in Manchester on 2 November, Birmingham on 3 November and London on 5 November.
Pampering for pups
Jo Malone London has stepped into the pet-care category with a dog shampoo made in collaboration with natural grooming brand WildWash.
Jo Malone London x WildWash Orange & Cedarwood Dog Shampoo combines naturally derived orange and cedarwood essential oils to create a refreshing lather that freshens the coat and gives a beautiful shine.
The partnership with WildWash brings together two brands with a shared focus on high-quality, natural ingredients and sensory product experiences. The British pet-care brand has established a strong reputation among professional dog groomers and pet owners for its beautifully fragranced formulations, making it a natural partner for Jo Malone London’s move into dog grooming.
Each 285ml bottle features an illustration of one of four dog breeds, and the launch has a notable canine star – French bulldog Blue, who has appeared alongside his dog dad, actor and Cypress & Grapevine ambassador Tom Hardy, in previous Jo Malone London campaigns.
Focus with Evera Nutrition
Evera Nutrition has launched Focus and Energy, a new supplement formulated with a combination of amino acids, vitamins, minerals, botanicals and natural caffeine.
The formula contains L-tyrosine, choline, N-acetyl carnitine (ALCAR), pyrroloquinoline quinone (PQQ), taurine and natural caffeine from coffee extract, alongside B vitamins, magnesium, zinc, iron, iodine and vitamins C and D.
It also includes ashwagandha, Bacopa monnieri, Siberian and Korean ginsengs, and green tea extract.
Evera Nutrition says the product has been developed to support brain health, mitochondrial energy, cognitive function and sustained alertness, rather than relying on high levels of stimulants.
The launch follows the brand’s focus on products combining vitamins, minerals, botanicals and herbal ingredients.
Waitrose updates Good Health logo
Responding to growing customer demand for cleaner ingredients, Waitrose has updated its Good Health logo to include ingredient standards alongside nutritional criteria.
First introduced in 2018, the yellow logo has been revised to reflect a shift away from traditional low-calorie and low-fat measures towards positive nutrition and ingredient transparency. Waitrose research found that 93% of its customers prioritize avoiding ultra-processed foods and actively check ingredient lists.
Products carrying the updated logo must contain no additives or less recognizable ingredients, make at least one valid health or nutrition claim, meet non-HFSS criteria and have no red traffic lights, subject to specified exceptions for naturally occurring fats and sugars.
The changes build on the supermarket’s additive reduction programme, which has improved 110 own-label product recipes and removed 220 unnecessary additives over the past 20 months. The retailer also prohibits 146 specific additives across its own-label range.
