Clipper brews up premium pyramid SKUs

Clipper tea range displayed on a café table, featuring seven organic tea varieties in illustrated packaging.

Organic and Fairtrade tea brand Clipper Teas has created a new premium tea format for both the foodservice and health food trade.

The pyramid-shaped tea bags contain larger-cut ingredients and provide more space for the leaves to move and expand. This, says the brand, delivers a stronger flavour, aroma and colour, to produce a fuller, more rounded cup of tea.

Available in 20-bag packs, the range includes seven of Clipper’s top-performing flavours in the out-of-home channel: English Breakfast, Decaf, Earl Grey, Green, Peppermint & Spearmint, Lemon & Ginger and Rooibos.

The bags are made from a natural PLA derived from non-GMO sugar cane, so can be composted and added to food waste. The packaging is also fully recyclable.

“... the range enables consumers to recreate café culture and those special tea moments at home through the health food channel. We’re confident it will have strong appeal.”

“We’ve been working towards this innovation for some time, and we’re delighted to bring it to market,” says Tom Uttley, head of impulse & Ireland at parent company Ecotone UK. “We know today’s foodservice operators are looking for premium products that deliver on quality while meeting growing consumer expectations around sustainability. We’ve carefully curated a range that combines exceptional tea with strong sustainability credentials, making it a compelling choice for cafés, restaurants and hotels.

“At the same time, the range enables consumers to recreate café culture and those special tea moments at home through the health food channel. We’re confident it will have strong appeal and are excited to see consumers drinking it in and out of home.”
